Jalifa has emerged in recent years with a strong and fearless voice. Her powerful delivery, artful flow, and
carefully crafted lyrics distinguish her among the women who are blazing the music forward in the twenty first century. Zion High Productions now adds to her growing catalog with INCIENT RAS, a four song vocal and dub showcase.Hailing from Trinidad, Jalifa was raised in a Boboshanti tabernacle. Her lifelong faith and livication to herculture imbue each of the four songs on INCIENT RAS with wisemind and fiery passion. “Hear Ye”, “Whereas”, “Reggaelize It”, and “Direction” are all playlist ready as are their dubwize counterparts.
Produced by JAH David Goldfine, INCIENT RAS features the rootical sounds of the Zion I Kings players including the keyboards and trombone of the late Andrew “Drew Keys” Stoch. Instrumental contributions are made by Addis Pablo (melodica), Jonathan “Rankine Jedd” Rankine and Horseman (drums) and Benjamin “Ashanti Selah” Smith (keyboards) with background vocals by Sadiki “Buzzrock” Phillips.
